Learn about my personal experience & Join Me in Making a Difference in the Life of a Child

Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Washington has granted spectacular wishes to more than 5,200 children battling life-threatening medical conditions. With more than 300 children awaiting their wishes, the race is on to raise funds and make these dreams become reality!
My own story:Many of you may or may not know me Alex Bradshaw and my old life…About two years ago I was rushed into the St. Francis ER, only to go into cardiac arrest not once…but twice. After the doctor and room full of nurses were determined enough to resuscitate(help me start breathing again) me during a long 18 minutes. My dad & mom were then told that there was a chance I may not survive the ambulance ride to Mary Bridge Hospital. The surgeons were able to save me with an emergency surgery which entailed removing my entire Colon and part of my small intestines.

After a few months in the hospital…learning how to brush my teeth again, walk, eat and so on…I was finally released. I would like to say it was an easy release…but along with the physical challenges also comes emotional. Many of my friends were supportive…and there were some friends who discourage me, purposely hurting my feelings and bullied. I quickly became depressed. Then it all changed…Make A Wish foundation granted me a with a wish… Curious yet…Brandon Mebane from the Seattle Seahawks met me in my class room with all my friends, Seahawk cheerleaders and a party. Brandon then offered to me four season passes to watch him play. To finish the day off; Brandon passed the ball around. How did this change my life??? Everything changed. I realized after the next couple of months of going to Brandon’s games that I wanted to strive for more in my life. Yes I faced the impossible and survived.
I have chosen to give back to Make A Wish foundation by entering the “Walk for Wishes” which is held on Sunday, September 15th from 8:30am to 12:00pm . What I am asking from you as my friends and family is to either join my team on September 15th or be able to donate towards the cause at http://walkforwishes.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=1068408&lis=1&kntae1068408=4DD4FED287BE400E859A08FABEA44E7F&supId=389009799 . Any donation is a helpful! My goal is to help raise $500.00 prior to the big day September 15th

Please visit my hospital website page http://www.carepages.com/carepages/alexbradshaw to see how it all started and how far I have come. Please email my mom Steph at Steph@MyWashingtonHomeSearch.com or text/call 253-222-6610 to confirm you would like to join me and learn about the gift of giving a wish and walk.
Thank you,
Alex
